💿 Working with ISO Files

An ISO file is a package that contains everything needed to recreate a disc. To make it work, you must use the “Burn Image” function rather than “Copy/Paste.”

1. Requirements

  • A Blank DVD: Ensure it has enough capacity (standard ISOs fit on a 4.7 GB DVD-R).
  • USB DVD Burner: Connected and recognized by your computer.

2. Step-by-Step: Burning an ISO

On Windows (10 & 11)

Windows has a built-in tool called “Windows Disc Image Burner.”

  1. Insert your blank DVD.
  2. Locate your ISO file in the File Explorer.
  3. Right-click the ISO file.
  4. Select “Burn disc image” (if you don’t see it, click “Show more options”).
  5. A small window will open. Select your USB Drive in the “Disc burner” dropdown.
  6. Click Burn.

On macOS

Apple handles ISOs natively through the Finder.

  1. Insert the blank DVD.
  2. Locate the ISO file in your folders.
  3. Right-click (or Control+click) the ISO file.
  4. Select “Burn Disc Image [Name] to Disc…”.
  5. Confirm the burner and click Burn.
