💿 Working with ISO Files
An ISO file is a package that contains everything needed to recreate a disc. To make it work, you must use the “Burn Image” function rather than “Copy/Paste.”
1. Requirements
- A Blank DVD: Ensure it has enough capacity (standard ISOs fit on a 4.7 GB DVD-R).
- USB DVD Burner: Connected and recognized by your computer.
2. Step-by-Step: Burning an ISO
On Windows (10 & 11)
Windows has a built-in tool called “Windows Disc Image Burner.”
- Insert your blank DVD.
- Locate your ISO file in the File Explorer.
- Right-click the ISO file.
- Select “Burn disc image” (if you don’t see it, click “Show more options”).
- A small window will open. Select your USB Drive in the “Disc burner” dropdown.
- Click Burn.
On macOS
Apple handles ISOs natively through the Finder.
- Insert the blank DVD.
- Locate the ISO file in your folders.
- Right-click (or Control+click) the ISO file.
- Select “Burn Disc Image [Name] to Disc…”.
- Confirm the burner and click Burn.
